Yvette Castleroy

Lady Yvette Castleroy was the daughter of Lord Castleroy and a love interest of Leith Bayard. Yvette was quite besotted with Leith, eager to get to know him better. Unfortunately for her, her yearning went unrequited.

Yvette and Leith having a nice chat

Yvette is being harassed by one of the king's guard when a young man swoops in, pretending to be her boyfriend by referring to her as "darling" to get the soldier to back off.

It works and when the guard leaves, Yvette, who is instantly attracted to the man, asks him to share a drink with her. However, he declines, as he is looking for someone, which prompts her to remark that those are the saddest words she's heard all day.

A few hours later, however, the man has a seat across from her at her table. After they introduce themselves to each other by name, he asks if they could have a drink now. She wonders what changed from their last encounter, and he claims that while he wasn't He "thirsty", he is now.

While intrigued by the offer, Yvette is due to meet another that evening. He jokingly calls her a heartbreaker, but she replies that she isn't one at all and asks him not to be either. The man Yvette goes on to meet up with is her father, Aloysius Castleroy. She tells him that while she was waiting for her, her evening took "the loveliest turn".

After the meeting, Yvette is upset with Leith, demanding to know why he chose to be with her, considering her affiliations to her father, and his fiancé. Leith promises he didn't know who she was, and he did say harsh things, but only out of anger. They soon agree to meet up and spend what little time they may have left together.

Yvette waiting for Leith

A few hours have passed and Yvette is waiting for Leith still. A young girl fetches her wine while she waits. When the girl asks her when her fancy soldier is arriving, Yvette shushes her. She doesn't want anyone to know, especially if he doesn't come. She then downs the goblet of wine.

Not long after does Yvette fall dead to the ground with the rest of the Volad family who all drank poisoned wine.
