The Vintage Wine Tasting Banquette is an event held in honour of King Francis. In the event, people get to taste wine that was bottled on the day of the King's birth, hence why it's called vintage. It attracts all kinds of guests, mainly nobles and young aristocratic ladies hoping to secure a position as the king's mistress.
Prior to the Event[]
Lady Kenna is put in charge of hosting the event, including the seating plan, menu, and more. The court is in disarray at the amount of guests flocking in, much to Kenna's distress, but Mary and Lola are oddly relaxed.
During the Event[]
Queen Catherine alludes to Lola that she should become Francis' mistress, seeing as they already have a son, John Philip, and he clearly likes her. However, Lola believes that Francis still loves Mary.
While Sebastian shares a dance with Kenna and offers to take her to Paris, Francis bemoans his marriage with Mary to Lola.
They are soon approached by Narcisse's niece, Lady Amelie, who leads Francis away from the ballroom under the ruse of an urgent message and in his chamber, she reveals that she just wanted to be alone with him. They end up sleeping together.
