In Clans, Mary learns that Munro is the leader of the gang of assassins that attacked her and Francis with the intent of killing her. The culprits killed Francis instead, and Mary promises to rip his heart out as he did hers.
In Intruders, When Mary is alone with Munro he realizes who she really is; Mary soon plunges a cross into his neck and stabs him with the sword Francis made for her. Mary talks about how Munro plotted her assassination and there was no need for it; however in the end he is responsible for the death of her beloved husband. Soon after she and Bash take two horses and ride for Edinburgh Castle.
- Munro is very similar to Barrowman himself. “The actor is so charming, lively and funny that I wanted a character who really lived up to that.” She promises the episode will be memorable: “They meet again at a party, and there will be violence.” - Laurie McCarthy
