King Philip II is the oldest son of Charles V, the Holy Roman Emperor. He married Elisabeth of Valois, and they went back to Spain together as King and Queen.

Early Life
Philip becaame the King of Spain when he was 13 years old.
Season 1
Philip married Elisabeth, the oldest daughter, and princess of France. She is the sister to the next heir of the throne, Prince Francis II.
On the night of their wedding, they consummated their marriage. As part of the protocol, they did this in front of an audience that includes the Heads of Church, as proof of their marriage.
Trivia
- Their wedding occurred in 1557. During this time, King Philip was still married to Mary I of England, which means that the marriage between him and Elizabeth hasn't transpired yet.
- Elisabeth of Valois is actually Philip II of Spain's third wife, as his first two died of natural deaths. Elizabeth and Philip are both said to have been in a very happy marriage (the former being noted to be 14 and the latter being 35 at the time of marriage). It is also noted though history about how Phillip would constantly dote on her.
- His father, Charles V was crowned by Pope Clement VII.
