Clan Gordan kidnapped Mary Stuart with the intentions of marrying her off to his Catholic son. After Mary escaped her brother James Stuart beheaded the Earl of Clan Gordon in front of them all. Mary ordered him to stop his threats against the rest of the family, only if they all swore loyalty to her.
