Conorad DeGarnanis a high ranking memeber of The Catholic Church. He is a rather corrupt man, who looks out for himself, rather than doing God's work.
Conorad DeGarnan turned away a man whose son wasn't read his last rights before his death, a common occurrence in the 16th century. However, Conorad DeGarnan declined to help him unless he paid the full 8 levros, not 2 so the man was tuned away.
Leith Bayard offered to pay any tide to the Catholic Church, and made it clear he was willing to do whatever it took to be granted an annulment. Conorad decided to hear him out, only once he found out Leih had a close friendship with King Francis.
Conorad DeGarnan again received Leith in his chambers. This time he had everyone else leave. He told Leith if he kept working for him for a couple years, he would soon have his annulment. When asked if there was anyway to speed up the process, Conorad informed him, that if he stole a scarab from the castle, took it to someone for him, and then brought back the money, it would speed things up.
